The Lewton-Brain Foldform Competition is now accepting entries for its annual competition, which is being sponsored by the Center for Metal Arts.

Submissions must be received by midnight eastern time on June 16.

The competition will be judged by foldform inventor Charles Lewton-Brain, Alan Revere, founder and director of the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts, and Hazel Wheaton, editor of Art Jewelry magazine.

The publication will present winning entries in a print issue and special online gallery again this year, while an art book that celebrates the competition’s inaugural two years will be published this summer.

Prizes for first, second, and third place, as well as an honourable mention, include Rio Grande gift certificates and hand-selected items from Lewton-Brain. Additional entries are recognized in a Jurors’ Choice round.

Winners will be announced Aug. 1 during the annual four-day workshop. For more information, visit www.centerformetalarts.com.

Invented by Canadian master goldsmith Charles Lewton-Brain, foldforming uses sheet material to produce rapid development of 3D surfaces and structures, creating the appearance of origami and forgework.
