Visitors to the Worldwide Gem and Jewelry Show in Tucson later this week will be able to pick up various gemstone reports thanks to a ‘show service lab’ organized by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).
Housed in the Palo Verde Room at the Hotel Arizona, the show lab will be staffed by senior GIA gemmologists, as well as account and customer service representatives.
“The purpose of the show service lab is to accommodate the laboratory needs of our customers in an effective and convenient method while they attend this trade show,” said Tom Moses, senior vice-president of GIA Laboratory and Research. “In the past, we’ve received a high number of requests for our services and we look forward to fulfilling our clients’ needs at the show this year.”
Temporary GIA reports for ruby, sapphire, emerald, alexandrite, and tourmaline, as well as country-of-origin reports will be issued on the spot, while actual GIA reports will be mailed at a later date.
Gem identification services will be offered during the following hours or by appointment by calling (760) 603-4517.
