Members of the jewellery and gemmology industries have until September 30 to apply for the Gemological Institute of America[2]’s (GIA’s) 2019 scholarships. This year, the institute will offer a total of US$2 million in scholarship funding.

“With changing consumer trends and technological advancements in the industry, it is now more important than ever to have professional qualifications,” said Duncan Pay, vice-president of GIA. “These scholarships help people follow their dreams and pursue their passion in gems and jewellery.”

Backed by private sponsors as well as the institute’s endowment fund, the scholarships cover GIA’s distance education programs as well as those held at its schools worldwide. The organization offers classes and programs in Bangkok, California, Hong Kong, London, Mumbai, New York, Surat, and Taiwan.

Those interested in applying can contact GIA[3] for more details.
