The International Gemological Institute (IGI)”“North & South America has received certification by the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC).

“As a proud RJC member, we are thrilled to have achieved this essential recognition, as we feel the council’s standards fully align with IGI’s principles, values, and mission to provide accurate and reliable product information to consumers,” said IGI president and chief executive officer (CEO), Jerry Ehrenwald.

“We look forward to continuing to work alongside the RJC and its members to further the industry by way of ethical practices and gemmological educational initiatives.”

Under the RJC system, companies must submit to third-party auditing to verify conformance to its Code of Practices (COP), as well as attaining certification within two years of joining. RJC certifies companies producing goods using gold, diamonds, and platinum group metals.

RJC CEO Michael Rae welcomed IGI to its growing list of certified members.

“RJC congratulates IGI”“North & South America on its certification,” he said. “The completion of the verification assessment was conducted by UL Responsible Sourcing, one of the independent third-party auditing firms accredited to the RJC’s member certification system.”
