HRD Antwerp opens lab in Turkey

HRD Antwerp is setting up a new diamond jewellery certification lab in Istanbul, Turkey.

Turkish jewellery manufacturers can now have on-the-spot diamond jewellery certification, thanks to a new HRD lab in Istanbul.

The move is expected to boost consumer confidence in Turkish jewellery, while cutting back on overseas shipment costs for manufacturers.

“We look forward to a successful partnership with the Istanbul jewellery industry,” said HRD Antwerp general manager Georges Brys. “We see this as a natural partnership between two cities with a long history—Antwerp for diamonds and Istanbul for jewellery.”

HRD’s reports provide a description of the weight of the jewel and the precious metals used, along with the number of diamonds set, their shape, carat, colour, clarity, and cut.
