WFDB has launched Diamond Aid, a global fundraising campaign to support India in its battle with COVID.

Providing hospitals in India with the medications and equipment needed to combat novel coronavirus is the goal of a new global fundraising campaign.

Launched by the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB), Diamond Aid is calling upon the international diamond and jewellery industry to donate funds and support India in its battle with COVID.

The goal of the campaign, organized in co-ordination with the Bharat Diamond Bourse, is supply hospitals in Surat and Mumbai with much-needed medical supplies. It was mobilized following a unanimous decision by the WFDB executive committee.

“The international diamond and jewellery industry is a close-knit community—actually a family—made up of members from around the globe, many of whom live or originate in India,” says the group’s president, Yoram Dvash. “As members of this family, we cannot stand by without helping.”
