Jewelers Mutual is getting several new faces on its board of directors.

Insurance industry veteran Mark Fiebrink has been named chair, while Kurt Steckbeck will sit as vice-chair. Fiebrink takes over from outgoing chair, Nancee James, who will continue to serve as a board member. Carl Rudolph, a financial services consultant, has retired from the board after 10 years of service.

“It’s an exciting time at Jewelers Mutual, and I’m proud to work with Mark Fiebrink and Kurt Steckbeck in their new roles as chair and vice-chair, respectively,” said company president and chief executive officer (CEO), Darwin Copeman.

“Nancee has been an incredible leader at Jewelers Mutual, and we will continue to rely on her expertise in the insurance industry. Carl Rudolph was a valuable member of our board of directors for the last decade, and we will miss his contributions to our company.”

Fiebrink previously served as president and chief operating officer (COO) at Wausau Insurance Companies, where he was responsible for the company’s service operations. Prior to that, he held positions with Liberty Mutual Agency Markets, including executive vice-president, chief financial officer (CFO), and chief actuary.

Steckbeck is the CEO of Chicago-based North American Jewelers Inc., a manufacturer of diamond jewellery. He is also chair of Steckbeck Jewelry PVT, a jewellery manufacturer located in Mumbai.

In related company news, Sherry Manetta and John Ward were also welcomed to the board. Manetta is a managing director and head of software operations for Conning’s Global Risk & Capital Management Solutions, while Ward is founder and CEO of Cincinnatus Partners, a Cincinnati-based private equity firm specializing in the insurance industry.

“We seek the best of the best for our board of directors,” Copeman said. “We are excited to welcome Sherry Manetta and John Ward to our board, and we look forward to tapping their insurance industry experience to continue Jewelers Mutual’s success.”
