Italian jewellery will soon carry a ‘Gioiello Italiano’ stamp. The Italian Association of Chambers of Commerce (Assicor) developed the strategy to promote the ‘Made in Italy’ brand worldwide.
The Italian Association of Chambers of Commerce (Assicor) has announced a new strategy to support Italy’s jewellery industry with a distinctive trademark symbol.

Assicor made the announcement on Sept. 13 at the Vicenzaoro Choice jewellery show, unveiling the ‘Gioiello Italiano’ project and a stylized ‘gi’ symbol to serve as a reference point for Italian-made jewellery around the world. The symbol will appear on pieces made with gold, silver, platinum, and palladium.

Addressing the international press, Assicor president Pietro Faralli said worldwide competition and the financial crisis have battered the Italian jewellery industry. Italy remains the world’s largest exporter of jewellery, but its overall market share has dropped significantly in recent years. The trademark is designed to help small enterprises find common ground through the unified branding of premium products.
