Time’s a ticking as the countdown to Swiss Watch at JCK 2011 begins and top brands flock to Las Vegas and the show’s new digs at Four Seasons/Four Seasons.
Baume & Mercier, Chopard, Tag Heuer, Harry Winston, and Ulysse Nardin will debut their latest collections, along with Breitling, a new addition to the line up.
“There is no singular location in the United States to see as many top watch brands in one exquisite location than Swiss Watch,” said Dave Bonaparte, group vice-president for JCK Events. “Each year, the finest retailers join us at Swiss Watch to meet with new and existing suppliers, renew and continue current programs, and discuss their year-on-year successes. Swiss Watch at JCK offers an exclusive experience for buyers and sellers of fine timepieces.”
In addition to offering some of the biggest names in Swiss watches, JCK also welcomes the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie (FHH) as it presents its “Initiation to Watchmaking” workshop, a first in the United States. The three-hour seminar is an exclusive event for select retailers to gain a better understanding and appreciation of the intricacies of fine watchmaking.
“These workshops are amazing to behold,” says FHH development director, Pascal O. Ravessoud. “When these one-day watchmaker students make their movement tick again, they are so happy. Going through this experience puts things into perspective as to how incredibly difficult it is to be a watchmaker—even for this very basic movement—and it gives a sense of how much skill and experience is required to make a true haute horlogerie movement.”
Swiss Watch 2011 also welcomes: Bovet, Carl F. Bucherer, Christian Dior, Cuervo y Sorbrinos, Corum, Ebel, Frederique Constant, Girard Perregaux, Gucci, Hermès, Movado, Perrelet, Raymond Weil, Swatch Group US, Technomarine, and Zenith.
