JCK heads to Vancouver with a new show

SB_Conf_VanPhtoThe Pacific Northwest jewellery market will soon have a JCK show of its own, this time on Canadian soil.

Produced by Reed Exhibitions, Collections by JCK moves into the Vancouver Trade & Convention Centre later this year.

According to show organizers, the event aims to reflect the city and the larger area, bringing together exhibitors from Western Canada and the northwest part of the United States to showcase one-of-a-kind pieces, diamonds, gemstones, finished fine jewellery, and timepieces.

Educational seminars, special events, and networking opportunities will greet retailers attending this inaugural show, which comes less than a year after Reed rechristened Jewellery World Expo Toronto as JCK Toronto, a move designed to make the show more globally known.

With the formation of Collections by JCK, retailers and exhibitors in the Pacific Northwest will now get their own taste of the JCK brand.

“Drawing upon the best practices and successes of the world-class JCK brand, retailers and exhibitors will experience first-class treatment,” said Scott C. Temple, managing director for Reed Exhibitions Canada.

“Retailers and exhibitors are looking for us to provide a marketplace unique to Vancouver, offering more design-focused jewellery styles, along with educational opportunities not only for buyers, but for all the employees who are on the front lines selling jewellery to consumers.”

John McGeary, Reed’s vice-president of new business development, said focus groups conducted in Vancouver indicated a specific need for an educational track dedicated to sales associates.

The show’s dates are Sept. 24 and 25.
