Angus Glen Golf Club played host to Jewellers Vigilance Canada’s (JVC’s) 17th annual golf tournament, bringing together a who’s who of the jewellery and watch industry.

Following a day of golf, about 100 guests enjoyed the afternoon sun and a cocktail or two overlooking the greens.

“We were thrilled to see more retailers join us this year,” said JVC executive director, Phyllis Richard. “Everyone had a great time. It is such a good way for industry members to relax together and have some fun.”

Proceeds from a dinner and silent auction will go toward supporting JVC’s efforts in the areas of crime prevention, consumer services, and working with government agencies.

“The funds raised will help JVC continue to work on behalf of our industry,” Richard said. “This year, we have focused on anti-money laundering compliance and will spend resources on assisting industry members, as well as working with FINTRAC—the government agency responsible for enforcing compliance—to help its representatives better understand our industry.”

JVC—a non-profit organization—was established in 1987 to advance ethical practices, establish a level playing field for the Canadian jewellery and watch industry, and provide crime prevention education.
