The next update to Italy’s Fiera di Vicenza exhibition centre will be focused on meeting the needs of jewellery trade shows like VicenzaOro, according to the Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), the show’s organizer.

This new initiative involves not the building of a new hall, but a renovation of the existing Hall 2. It is the first major renovation at the centre since the opening of Hall 7 in 2015, which allowed IEG to reorganize VicenzaOro’s exhibitor map and introduce the ‘boutique’ format it currently uses.

Volkwin Marg of GMP Von Gerkan, Mark & Partners Studio is at the helm of the design, overseeing a project expected to cost 35 million euros ($52.9 million CAD). The goal is to condense the hall into two levels rather than five, while adding technologies that support a variety of events focused on the gold and jewellery industry.

Fiera di Vicenza will play host to its next major event this fall, when VicenzaOro September is set to run from September 22 to 26.
