JewelPop has donated $24,160 to Karen Learning and Education Opportunities (KLEO), a charity that works to provide educational opportunities to Thai children.

Young people in the Karen region of Northern Thailand will reap the benefits of a $24,160 donation by Nova Scotia-based JewelPop.

In March, JewelPop announced it would give $5 to Karen Learning and Education Opportunities (KLEO) for every KarmaPop it sold to a Kameleon retailer. The money was in support of Jen’s House, a Thai residence that enables students living in remote villages to complete their middle and high school education in good-quality local schools.

The company says it didn’t expect the response from its customers.

“We were completely overwhelmed by how quickly our retailers embraced the program and helped promote KarmaPops in their stores,” said JewelPop president Robert Smith.

“KarmaPops have proven to be a huge success; we’re very excited about the donation. We’re looking forward to our upcoming ‘POP to School’ campaign in September, and hope to see our retailers promoting KarmaPops for the entire month. KLEO is a great organization and we know that every dollar goes where it is most needed.”

The company will release three new KarmaPop styles for ‘POP to School.’  Retailers who sign up for the promotion will be eligible to purchase the latest Kameleon giveaway, a limited-edition pendant with matching sterling silver chain. Each gift with purchase will come packaged in a custom Kameleon box. Participating stores will also receive a customized Kameleon backpack filled with a branded USB memory stick, notepad, and loyalty card to be used as a giveaway.
