JewelPops hires new designer

Jewellery and 3-D designer Aidan Smith has joined JewelPops. JewelPops president Robert Smith (no relation) said the newest addition to the company will bring fresh ideas and a youthful perspective.

“This is a very exciting time at JewelPops Inc.,” Robert said. “We are very pleased to have [Aidan] join us… We release new designs in our Kameleon line twice a year, and are constantly working on new projects, one of which is a new interchangeable line that will be released at the JCK show. This creates a huge demand for new designs. Aidan has joined the team and fits in wonderfully. The knowledge he has brought to the table has already proven invaluable.”

Aidan has a diploma from Kootenay School of the Arts in jewellery and a bachelor of fine arts degree in jewellery design and metalsmithing from Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University.

“I was drawn to the position offered by JewelPops initially because it was an excellent position in my field of choice,” he said.

“Also, being Canadian, I was intrigued by the company’s story; this is a Canadian company started with a simple idea that has grown exponentially in very little time.

“I was also impressed with [JewelPops’] charitable participation and the fact there is no child labour used, which is often an issue with international manufacturing”¦ There is a real family atmosphere that makes me feel at home. I am looking forward to growing with the company and seeing my designs being worn by consumers.”
