A who’s who of the jewellery and watch industry hit the links earlier this month at the prestigious Angus Glen Golf Club for Jewellers Vigilance Canada’s (JVC’s) 16th annual golf tournament.
Following a day of golf, about 100 guests gathered on a patio overlooking the greens for cocktails, followed by a dinner and silent auction, the proceeds of which go toward JVC.
“This annual fundraiser has become increasingly financially important to JVC,” said its executive director, Phyllis Richard.
“It looks like we raised more money than last year, thanks to our generous sponsors, enthusiastic golfers, and guests who bid on the silent auction items. JVC uses the funds raised to continue our work within the industry, especially our crime prevention efforts, consumer services, and working with government agencies such as FINTRAC in educating the trade on anti-money laundering regulations that affect so many industry members. Thanks to all who supported this event.”
JVC—a non-profit organization—was established in 1987 to advance ethical practices, establish a level playing field for the Canadian jewellery and watch industry, and provide crime prevention education.
