Attendance was up at the 17th Annual Las Vegas Antique Jewelry & Watch Show, as visitors picked up pieces like this diamond, garnet, and gold bird brooch.
US Antique Shows says attendance at the 17th Annual Las Vegas Antique Jewelry & Watch Show was its highest ever.

Held at the Paris Hotel, the event saw a 38 per cent increase in visitors over last year.

“Opening day attendance was strong,” said fair director, Andrea Canady. “We are happy to report we surpassed last year’s numbers by a wide margin.”

The show’s organizer says the event is now the largest trade show of its kind dedicated to the antique jewellery and watch industry.

Overall, exhibitors reported having a good show with healthy sales.

“We found the mood of this year’s show very upbeat with both new exhibitors and new customers visiting,” said Robert W. Lyons of Kazanjian Bros in Beverly Hills, Calif. “We saw clients not only from the United States, but also from China, Europe, and the Middle East. We found considerable interest in fancy-coloured diamonds, selling a number of stones including an 18-carat fancy intense yellow diamond.”

The next edition of the show will be held at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City from July 22 to 25.
