The Martin Ross Group has acquired the independent jewellery division of the HRA Group, a deal designed to provide consumers with goods manufactured in Canada using Canadian diamonds.
“As Canada’s largest jewellery company manufacturing in Canada, Martin Ross is truly excited by this acquisition and the opportunity to offer the service, quality, and design that both its Libman & Co. and Master Design divisions are known for in combination with the HRA Group’s Canadian diamond manufacturing and brands,” said Cameron Gillies, president and chief operating officer (COO) of the Martin Ross Group.
“We are providing a truly Canadian product and our retail partners will benefit from the combination of jewellery that is fully manufactured in Canada using diamonds that are mined, cut, and polished in this country by the largest producer of Canadian diamonds.”
HRA Group’s independent jewellery division includes the Canadian Rocks brand.
The relationship between the two companies began with the launch of De Beers’ Forevermark brand in Canada in June. Libman & Co. will manufacture the exclusive lines at its facility in Toronto in partnership with Crossworks Manufacturing, which will cut and polish the diamonds at its factories in Sudbury, Ont., and Yellowknife. Crossworks is a division of HRA.
“We share a common vision with the Martin Ross Group in that we are proud to be manufacturing in Canada and we believe the Canadian retailer and consumer will value jewellery product manufactured in its entirety in Canada,” said Dylan Dix, HRA’s group executive for marketing and external relations. “This relationship will prove to be about strong partnerships with retail jewellers who believe that ‘Made in Canada’ matters.”
