[1]Joel McFadden has been named the first mentor jeweller for the Manufacturing Jewelers & Suppliers of America (MJSA).

The new program, which seeks to recognize individuals excelling in jewellery making and design, and those who have demonstrated outstanding dedication to sharing technical and business expertise throughout the jewellery industry, is the MJSA’s latest initiative to advice the art of custom design.

Serving the industry for more than 30 years, McFadden is a custom jeweller based in Red Bank, NJ. “McFadden is the personification of what it is to be a mentor jeweller,” says Lee Krombholz, owner of Cincinnati’s Krombholz Jewelers, and chair of the council. “He is a constant contributor, willing teacher, and active leader to many jewellers and jewellery organizations over this lifetime. The jewellery industry is a better place because of Joel.”

He has had many apprentices who’ve gone on to have successful careers, and is a regular conference speaker.
