New events await at JCK Las Vegas

[1]The countdown to JCK Las Vegas is on and the show’s organizers are lining up events highlighting fashion styles, jewellery pairings, and excellence in design.

“We are thrilled to add all these new events,” said Yancy Weinrich, senior vice-president of JCK. “In an industry that’s built on networking and developing relationships, we know business goes beyond in-booth meetings. This is a perfect combination of events to learn about trends and styles from different perspectives, celebrate talented designers and retailers, and build valuable relationships while having fun!”

Here’s a quick rundown of what’s in store:

Hollywood Takes JCK—May 30 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at JCK Las Vegas’ Currents Lounge

• Hollywood top costume designers Ellen Mirojnick, Meredith Markworth-Pollack, and Lou Eyrich give you their insights and the challenges they experience when accessorizing cinematic characters. Moderated by JCK editor-in-chief Victoria Gomelsky and organized by Jessica Cohen of The Product Agent, the event asks each designer to accessorize a little black dress with product pulled from collections on the JCK show floor.

Expressing Style through Jewelry with Lyn Paolo & Marion Fasel—May 30 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at JCK Las Vegas’ Clockwork Lounge

• Costume designer Lyn Paolo from TV’s Scandal joins Marion Fasel, founder and editorial director of The Adventurine, to discuss jewellery styling on the silver screen.

First Love Then Style: Bridal Trends you Need to Know­—May 31 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at JCK Las Vegas’ Bridal Lounge

• Bridal editors, bloggers, and stylists gather to provide their insights on everything from jewellery and dress trends to real-life proposals… all curated on live models. Moderated by Communiqué’s Rebecca Moskal, the event features Stone Fox Bride’s Molly Guy, Engagement 101’s Severine Ferrari, ‘How He Asked’ blogger Stacy Tasman, and jewellery and style expert Michael O’Connor.

An Evening of Design—May 29 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at JCK Wine(d) Down Bar at Mandalay Bay

• JCK’s first annual Evening of Design celebrates the designer community, while honouring the Top 50 designer jewellery retailers (sponsored by Berkley Asset Protection) as voted on by the designers themselves. The event is followed by the first Design Center Editor’s Choice Awards, which celebrates imagination and honours excellence in craftsmanship.

Other new show floor events include: JCK Uncorked, which takes place May 29 at 3:30 p.m. in the Passport lounge; JCK Brunch Bash, held on June 1 at 10:30 a.m. in the Sterling lounge; and JCK Rock’s the Beach, with singer Gavin DeGraw on May 31.

JCK’s special events are open to qualified JCK Las Vegas badge holders, although tickets are required for admission to JCK Rocks the Beach.

JCK Las Vegas runs from May 29 to June 1 and is held at Mandalay Bay.
