Peregrine Diamond’s Chidliak property in Nunavut has yielded the discovery of four more kimberlites.
Located on the 9800-km2 property, CH-6 kimberlite was found via drilling, as opposed to CH-7, CH-8, and CH-9, which were located at the surface while prospecting geophysical anomalies.
Since commencement of the Chidliak summer exploration program in early July, Peregrine has discovered six new kimberlites by drilling, as well as prospecting and mapping. The Vancouver-based company says kimberlite samples will be processed for micro-diamonds this fall to assess their potential.
Besides the nine kimberlites discovered at Chidliak to date, prospecting teams have also found kimberlite pebbles, boulders, and cobbles. Crews are now working to establish the link between these and proximal geophysical anomalies.
A minimum of 200 kg of drill core and surface material will be processed for micro-diamonds by caustic fusion from each kimberlite discovered this summer.
