
Nishi Pearls has appointed Philip Bouasse as its brand director.Â
Trained at Écoles de la Rue du Louvre in Paris, Bouasse is an experienced and award-winning jewellery designer.
“Nishi Pearls is a young brand with great ambition in the affordable luxury segment,” says Pierre Akkelian, president of Canadian Gem and distributor of Nishi Pearls in North America.
“Phil is in charge of branding, marketing, and sales strategy to establish Nishi as a worldwide cool luxury household name to all pearls lovers. We see great potential with a new generation of customers, focusing on e-commerce, social media, and creative concepts. Nishi Pearls is all about passion and emotions.”
Bouasse worked previously with ‘Emperor of Pearls’ pioneer Robert Wan in Tahiti, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Manila. He has an extensive background with branding and marketing, having managed his own line of jewellery and acting as a consultant for other brands.Â
Bouasse has also taught design and creative research at Rue du Louvre, and regularly collaborates with Swarovski Gems as a designer in the brand’s annual Gem Visions trend book.
