No shots fired during brazen robbery

For the second time in less than a year, robbers targeted the Jewellery Company at the Promenade Shopping Centre in Vaughan, Ont.

On April 9, three men—including one with a handgun—entered the store around 11:15 am and confronted the sales staff, forcing them to unlock the display cases while one of the thieves stood guard.

The frightened employees filled two gym bags before the bandits fled the mall and drove southbound on Bathurst Street in what is believed to be a green four-door Mazda.

No one was injured in the heist.

The men are described as wearing dark clothing, hooded sweatshirts, and masks over their faces. Anyone with information is asked to call police at (866) 876-5423 ext. 6630 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.

Last June, a gunman entered the same store and demanded precious gemstones before running from the mall. He then carjacked an unsuspecting couple and sped off. Police later arrested a 30-year-old man at Highway 7 and Keele.

Investigators are not releasing any details on the value of the merchandise stolen in the latest heist.
