[1]Attendees of the Original Miami Beach Antique Show will get their chance to have one item appraised by Skinner Auctioneers & Appraisers.
Anyone with a valid ticket to the show is invited to Appraisal Day, which runs from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Feb. 1 and will be held on the second floor of the Miami Beach Convention Center in room D-234.
Appraisers will provide an unbiased, expert opinion of the item, including a verbal estimated range of its fair market value. No written valuations will be given.
“The Original Miami Beach Antique Show is widely known as a premier event in the world of antiques,” said Karen M. Keane, chief executive officer (CEO) of Skinner Auctioneers & Appraisers. “Skinner is pleased to be the sponsor of the 2014 Appraisal Day.”
Attendees are encouraged to sign up for an appointment at www.MiamiBeachAntiqueShow.com[2].
Organizers say walk-ups are also welcome, but an appointment guarantees the item will be seen by an appraiser.
In addition to Appraisal Day, the show will host a charity raffle benefiting Autism Speaks, a non-profit organization that funds research into the causes, prevention, treatments, and a cure for the disorder. The organization also works to increase awareness and advocates for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.
The grand prize is a stainless steel Rolex Datejust donated by Raymond Lee Jewelers. A pair of Miami Heat tickets from the Miami Herald and a Machine Age art deco streamline side table, circa 1930 from Deco 2 Mid Century Furniture will also be given away.
Raffle tickets are $25 each or five for $100 and can be purchased at the Autism Speaks booth in front of Hall D during the show. All monies collected will benefit Autism Speaks.
The Original Miami Beach Antique Show runs from Jan. 30 to Feb. 3.
