Erik Schmidt has been named Pandora’s new chief human resources officer.

Erik Schmidt is set to join Pandora[2] on Aug. 12, taking on the role of chief human resources (HR) officer.

Based in the U.K., Schmidt recently served as chief HR officer at Britax, a child-safety product manufacturer that was previously headed by Pandora CEO, Alexander Lacik[3]. Schmidt has also held senior HR positions with global bank HSBC, vehicle-rental service AVIS, multi-national conglomerate General Electric, and toy company Lego.

“Pandora has embarked on a major transformation journey to reignite our brand and assert our position as the leading jewellery company,” says Lacik. “At the core of this transformation stands the need to support and develop our global workplace and our employees in the best possible way. This requires an HR executive with extensive global transformation experience as well as operational experience from some of our key markets—and that is what Erik Schmidt brings to Pandora.”
