‘The Star of China’ was named by Tiffany Chen, vice-chair of China Star Entertainment Ltd., after her company.

A 75.35-carat briolette diamond sold at auction in May has been christened ‘The Star of China.’

The diamond—certified D colour and Type IIa by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA)—achieved a world-record price of $11,151,245 US when the gavel fell at Christie’s Hong Kong Magnificent Jewels sale.

The sparkler’s new owner Tiffany Chen, vice-chair of China Star Entertainment Ltd., named it after her company.
