Regal Imports receives RJC certification

Vancouver-based Regal Imports Ltd. is the first Canadian company certified against the Responsible Jewellery Council’s (RJC’s) ethical, human rights, social, and environmental standards.

“We are extremely proud to be a member of the Responsible Jewellery Council,” said company president, Mel Moss.

The 33-year-old wholesale diamond supplier specializes in Canadian diamonds, which it markets under the brand, ‘The Hallmark of Quality’ and guarantees by the CanadaMark certificate of origin. The company also sells lab-grown diamonds.

“[We] warmly congratulate Regal Imports on their certification and strong commitment to RJC,” said Michael Rae, the council’s chief executive officer (CEO).

All RJC members must submit to a third-party audit to verify their conformance with the council’s Code of Practices (COP). Regal Imports’ audit was conducted by Michael Armstrong from KPMG Performance Registrar Inc, Canada.

RJC is an international non-profit organization that promotes transparency and accountability throughout the industry. It has more than 300 members worldwide throughout the diamond, gold, and platinum group metals supply chain, trade associations, and service providers.
