Windsor, ON, police are investigating two separate smash-and-grab robbery attempts that targeted jewelry stores inside Tecumseh Mall over the span of three days.

The first incident occurred on Friday, when a suspect reportedly used a weapon to smash a glass display case and stole approximately $50,000 worth of jewelry. The man was seen wearing a blue scarf to cover his face and fled the scene in a black GMC Sierra with chrome accents. No injuries were reported among store employees.

Just two days later, on Sunday around 2 p.m., a second attempted robbery took place at a different jewelry store within the same mall. According to police, a man dressed in all black with a face covering entered the store and attempted to smash a glass display case with a weapon. When the glass did not break, the suspect fled.

Witnesses saw the man leave in a 2001 silver Chrysler Sebring, which police later found unoccupied in the 2600 block of Meadowbrook Lane. The vehicle has since been seized.

Investigators are asking the public to review any dashcam or surveillance footage captured between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Sunday for potential evidence, particularly in the proximity of the Tecumseh Mall and Meadowbrook Lane.
