SNAG to host business seminars in fall

Calling all entrepreneurs.

Society of North American Goldsmiths (SNAG) is hosting its second annual business symposium on Oct. 19.

Geared for independent designers, craftspeople, jewellers, and metalsmiths running small businesses, ‘Forging Entrepreneurs’ features presentations by six artists, designers, and business leaders from New York and San Francisco.

The following will speak at this year’s event:

• Ben Allen, president of Labrador Agency, and founding partner of THINK Conservatory;

• Cindy Edelstein, Jeweler’s Resource Bureau’s marketing guru;

• jewellery designer Sarah Graham;

• Alissia Melka-Teichroew, designer and founder of byAMT, Inc;

• photographer George Post; and

• Jonathan Russell of JR Casting.

The symposium is hosted by the Academy of Art in downtown San Francisco, and sponsored by Halstead Bead Inc., and the Bay Area Metal Arts Guild.
