Finding jewellery in extended sizes can be a challenge in Canada, a point that Montreal- and Toronto-based content creator Sarah Ostiguy quickly noticed when she revealed her size-inclusive collaboration with Canadian jewellery brand Olaeda.
As Ostiguy shared the news with her followers, many expressed excitement, especially those from areas where such options were limited. “People were very excited, especially from a geographical point of view,” Ostiguy says in an interview with Elle Canada. “Many people also wrote to me to tell me that they were happy to finally be able to buy rings in their size without having to turn to male designs—several even shared that they’ve always had to buy men’s rings even though they didn’t suit their style at all. For me, knowing that I’ve helped provide something that was missing is really huge.”
The Olaeda x Sarah Ostiguy collection is a 13-piece, limited-edition line designed to help wearers embrace self-love, inner strength, and their unique qualities.
Ostiguy, in conversation with Elle Canada, shares her hopes for the collection. “I would like people who have difficulty finding jewellery in their size to feel seen and included. But I would also like those who [have an easier time] finding their size to understand the importance of supporting brands that make this kind of effort,” she says. “I also hope this will encourage other brands to follow this path and offer more options for everyone. I want this collection to be a positive experience for everyone—that’s why each piece of jewellery has a name inspired by affirmations and positive intentions.”
