Yorkdale Shopping Centre welcomed Tiffany & Co. late last month with the opening of a second Toronto location.

Toronto is now home to a second Tiffany store, following the opening of the company’s newest location at Yorkdale Shopping Centre.

Deco-inspired stainless steel doors and a 25-foot high polished marble façade welcome shoppers to the 6200-sq. ft. location, housing everything from engagement rings to gifts and accessories, along with exclusive Tiffany collections by Elsa Peretti, Paloma Picasso, Jean Schlumberger, and Frank Gehry.

“What we love about being at Yorkdale is we’ll be able to introduce ourselves to people who maybe haven’t met us at Bloor Street or at other [locations],” store director Heather Smith Nuñez told Jewellery Business. “We’re thrilled to be here.”

Under construction for about a year, the store joins more than 200 Tiffany retail locations worldwide.

“One of the wonderful things about Tiffany is we’re here to celebrate life’s important moments and those go on always,” said Nuñez when asked about opening a store in these current economic times. “There are always babies being born, engagements, graduations, and Mother’s Day is right around the corner. I think it’s a wonderful time to be opening a new store.

“Every decision has been made mindfully, from the hand-painted wallpaper to our responsible choices with our stone and our metals. We plan to be here forever, so we wanted to make sure our choices were wise ones.”

The company is continuing to build its brand worldwide, recently announcing plans to open a new location in Amsterdam this fall.
