A glass artisan demonstrates at a Trollbeads in-store event how beads are made.

Jewellery lovers will get their chance to custom-make their own beads and pay it forward, thanks to in-store demonstrations sponsored by Trollbeads in support of flood relief efforts in Calgary.

Three retailers will welcome a specially trained glass artisan flown in by the Danish company to create the beads for donations.

All proceeds from the glass-making events will go toward the Red Cross Alberta Flood Relief Fund to support local retailers. The demonstrations will also allow the public to see how Trollbeads’ glass beads are created.

A special glass bead called ‘Alberta Strong’ has also been designed exclusively for the events as an additional way to raise donations.

The events will be held at:

• The Willows Casual Home (290 10816 Macleod Trail SE) on July 25 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.;

• Chuk Kam Fine Jewellery (328 Centre St. SE) on July 26 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and

• Heavenly Outhouse (312 1 st E Cochrane) on July 27 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
