A Richard Mille tourbillon and a diamond-set tourbillon sold for $426,000 U.S. apiece at Sotheby’s Hong Kong Important Watches Spring Sale.

Held on April 6, the auction totalled $8.4 million U.S.

“This season’s sale performance served as proof of a healthy watch auction market, and was topped by a Richard Mille tourbillon and a Vacheron Constantin diamond-set tourbillon, which sold for $426,000 each,” said Sharon Chan, head of watches, Sotheby’s Asia.

“Online bidding was strong for high-value lots and vibrant competition was seen for independent watches and models of extremely small productions. Despite the highly competitive market in Hong Kong, the solid sale result heralds the success of the upcoming sale on May 14 in Geneva.”
