Zsamuel Fine Jewellery has been named the exclusive Canadian distributor for Universal EZ Back.
Available in sterling silver and 14-karat yellow or white gold, the backs work with most regular post-back, screw-back, and other types of earrings, holding them securely and helping to prevent loss.
Encased in hypoallergenic soft silicone, the patented backs also support earrings against the earlobe, helping to keep them from stretching.
“We contacted J.J. Meneau, owner and creator of Universal EZ Back, after seeing his ad for secure earring backs,” says Zev Samuel, owner of Toronto-based Zsamuel Fine Jewellery.
“We were looking for a solution for clients that were not happy with the original backs that come with an earring.”
Samuel says the feedback he initially received from clients after testing the product was positive.
“We then listed the patented earring backs on eBay and Amazon and saw there was an increasing demand for them,” he explains, adding EZ Back also helps prevent earring posts from poking the wearer.
“People are actually searching online and are ready to pay the price for proper solutions to protect their earring and for some, more important, their ears.”
The backs come in small, medium, and large. The most expensive pair retails for $21.
“It’s a good feeling for us to be part of a solution that really makes a difference,” says Meneau, who is based in the United States.
