A pink diamond ring stole the show at Christie’s New York’s Magnificent Jewels auction—surpassing its estimated value to bring in US$13.3 million (C$18.2 million). The ring, called the Eden Rose, features a 10.20-carat round brilliant, fancy-intense pink, internally flawless type IIa diamond as its centerpiece, complemented by a surrounding ensemble of eight pear brilliant-cut diamonds and two marquise brilliant-cut diamonds.

Vivienne Westwood’s fashion legacy comes to Christie’s

Christie’s London is set to host a two-part auction featuring an array of items from the personal collection of late British fashion icon Vivienne Westwood. The auction, titled “Vivienne Westwood: The Personal Collection,” comprises over 200 lots of dresses, suits, shoes, and jewellery looks spanning 40 years. With proceeds aimed towards charitable causes, the auction will begin as a live sale on June 25 and an online auction from June 14-28.

202-carat fancy yellow diamond shines at auction

A remarkable 202.18-carat fancy intense yellow fancy colour diamond stole the show at the Magnificent Jewels show in Geneva, kicking off Christie’s first live auction of the year with a flourish. Dubbed the “Yellow Rose,” the unmounted gem originating from South Africa fetched an impressive US$6.7 million (C$9.15 million). The Yellow Rose marks the third instance where a stone of its colour, weighing more than 200 carats, has appeared in auction.
